Simu Liu’s ‘Copenhagen Test’ Hits Channel 4 UK

Channel 4 has bought the UK rights to air “The Copenhagen Test,” the popular Peacock sci-fi spy thriller with Simu Liu and Melissa Barrera. This will be the first time British viewers can see its mind-bending plot.

The show is about Alexander Hale (Simu Liu), a Chinese-American intelligence analyst whose brain is hacked by nanites called “Cassandra.” This lets enemies see and hear everything he does. He works with field agent Michelle Cyr (Melissa Barrera) in a fake romance to find the people responsible while dealing with loyalty tests from his agency, The Orphanage. All eight episodes came out on Peacock on December 27, 2025. They were full of action, surprises, and real-world paranoia.

This Channel 4 deal brings the hacker thriller to UK screens soon after its huge U.S. streaming debut, where it got 1.1 billion views in its first week and topped charts ahead of hits like “Emily in Paris.”Simu Liu, who just finished “Shang-Chi,” and Melissa Barrera shine in intense fight scenes and drama based on their chemistry. Liu says their relationship is “like Love Island under surveillance.” James Wan and Liu are executive producers, and the movie mixes spy thrills with sci-fi elements.
