After nearly 23 years in the entertainment industry, Vineet Raina is all set to make his international debut with the romantic comedy On Different Grounds. The actor described the opportunity as a proud moment, as he represents the Indian film industry on a global platform.
Directed by Mildred Okwo and produced by Nicolette Ndigwe, the film features former Miss Ghana Abena Akuaba as Raina’s love interest. The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release in June.
A Global Love Story Shot in Nigeria
On Different Grounds is a romantic comedy that revolves around a love triangle and the complexities of relationships. Notably, the film was shot across Lagos and various locations in Nigeria.
Moreover, Vineet Raina revealed that the project includes well-known actors from Nigeria, South Africa, and Ghana. As a result, the film stands out as a truly international collaboration.
Additionally, the actor expressed his excitement about representing Indian cinema on a global stage. He further shared that the film has been selected for the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and will later stream on a prominent OTT platform.
A 23-Year Journey in Television
Before stepping onto the global stage, Vineet Raina built a strong foundation in television. He began his career with Mulk, a show based on the India-Pakistan partition. Since then, he has appeared in over 35 television shows.
Some of his most notable projects include Maayka, Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai, Punar Vivah, Kaala Teeka, and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Furthermore, he described working with Ekta Kapoor in Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil as a dream come true.
