Prime Video Cancels ‘The Runarounds’ After One Season

After just one season, Prime Video has officially canceled The Runarounds, a coming-of-age drama for young adults. Jonas Pate and Josh Pate, who also made Outer Banks, made the eight-episode series, which started on September 1, 2025. The stars were a real-life rock band.

The choice wasn’t surprising because the show stopped making new episodes months ago and there were no talks about renewing it. It had trouble getting viewers, making it into Luminate’s Top 50 for the first three weeks but not Nielsen’s Top 10, like Prime’s Motorheads. The cast band posted the news on Instagram and thanked their fans for their support.

The Runarounds is about a garage band in Wilmington, North Carolina, trying to make it big in music while dealing with family problems and record label deals. The best part is the ending, “Kill Devil,” when things get really tense before a big show and a surprise offer for a record deal. Lilah Pate, the main actress, is now in Taylor Sheridan’s Frisco King for Paramount+.
