Trump and Hegseth’s “Stone Age” warning to Iran leads to a fiery response from the consulate as the US-Iran war heats up.
In a prime-time speech during the ongoing US-Iran conflict, US President Donald Trump gave Iran a very clear warning. He said that he would hit the country “extremely hard” over the next two to three weeks and send it “back to the Stone Age.”
Trump described the upcoming action as the last step in Washington’s plan to neutralize Tehran’s “sinister threat,” with fighting going on for more than a month after US and Israeli airstrikes.
Pete Hegseth, the US Secretary of War, echoed the provocative language on X, making Trump’s threat even stronger as tensions rise in the Middle East.
The Consulate General of Iran in Mumbai quickly criticized Hegseth’s comments, making fun of how the US went from promising to “make Iran Great Again” to taking it back to the Stone Age.
In an X post, the consulate talked about Iran’s ancient Achaemenid heritage from 550 BC. They said that civilizations like that “don’t really do ‘again’—they just are,” which went against the aggressive tone.
This response shows how defiant Tehran is, saying that US threats are useless against its long-lasting cultural legacy while the war goes on without a clear end.
