Naomie Harris and Christina Hendricks have officially started production on the BBC’s highly anticipated six-part legal drama Reputation, which centers on a high-profile celebrity libel case that explodes into a public scandal.
Harris takes on the role of Lena, a sharp defense lawyer representing global pop superstar Davina Knight—played by Hendricks. The drama kicks off when Davina releases a provocative song accusing her ex-husband of abuse. He responds by filing a libel suit, sparking an explosive legal battle that exposes the couple’s messy split to the world.
Created by writer Anya Reiss, the series explores themes of fame, media manipulation, and the legal fallout when personal conflicts become public battlegrounds.
The ensemble includes Kyle Soller as the ex-husband, along with supporting performances from Emily Atack (Rivals), Alex Jennings (The Crown), and David Gyasi (Interstellar).
Harris brings star power from the James Bond franchise and films like Skyfall and No Time To Die, while Hendricks is best known for her Emmy-winning role in Mad Men. The series taps into contemporary concerns about celebrity culture, social media, and libel law—issues that feel increasingly relevant in today’s viral news landscape.
The BBC drama also strengthens the broadcaster’s track record for character-driven legal thrillers that resonate with audiences.
