Following the Air India Express tragedy at Ahmedabad airport, Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran has announced ₹1 crore compensation for the families of each passenger who lost their lives. This response is crucial in the aftermath of the Air India Crash, showing support from the Tata Group, the owners of Air India, during this difficult time.

On June 12, 2025, the Dubai-bound Air India Express flight IX-213 had an accident during takeoff, veering off the runway and crashing. The Air India Crash resulted in the unfortunate deaths of 94 passengers and crew members, and many others were injured.

Chandrasekaran shared his deep sadness in a statement, promising the group’s full support to the affected families. “We are deeply saddened by this tragedy. The Tata Group is standing with the families of the victims during this incredibly hard time,” he said, referring to the aftermath of the crash.

Tata Sons has also sent teams to work with authorities, offering psychological, logistical, and financial help to survivors and their families who were impacted by the Air India Crash.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) are looking into what caused the crash. Initial reports suggest a technical problem during takeoff.
