After making his Bollywood debut as a music composer with Welcome To The Jungle, he has quickly emerged as a promising new talent. In a recent interaction, Ankit Gupta spoke about changing music consumption habits, the growing role of AI, his memorable experience working on Welcome To The Jungle, and his vision for the future.
Social Media Has Changed Music Consumption
According to Ankit, social media has completely transformed the way people listen to music. Earlier, listeners enjoyed songs that lasted five or six minutes and remembered every lyric. Today, however, audiences decide within just a few seconds whether they want to continue listening.
He explained, “Social media has changed the music industry a lot. Earlier, people listened to songs that were five or six minutes long and remembered every word and tune. Today, people decide within just two to three seconds whether they want to listen to a song or not. That is why musicians have to make songs interesting from the very beginning.”
As a result, composers now have to capture listeners’ attention instantly. Consequently, every opening note has become more important than ever.
AI Should Support Creativity, Not Replace It
Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly influential across the entertainment industry. While opinions remain divided, Ankit believes creators should embrace the technology with responsibility.
“We should accept it and use it as a tool, not misuse it. We also need to keep updating ourselves with new technology,” he said.
Furthermore, he believes AI can simplify workflows and improve production efficiency. However, genuine creativity, emotion, and storytelling must always come from people. For him, technology should empower musicians rather than define them.
Music Videos Are More Relevant Than Ever
Meanwhile, Ankit believes music videos are becoming increasingly popular because artists want to showcase multiple talents.
“I think many people now want to become complete entertainers. I have worked with people who wanted to become actors, and they started with music videos to show their talent. People enjoy watching this kind of content, so I do not think there is anything wrong with it. In fact, I feel more music videos should be made,” he shared.
Moreover, digital platforms have given music videos a wider audience than ever before. They not only promote songs but also help artists build their on-screen identity.
A Dream Bollywood Debut
Making a Bollywood debut is a significant milestone for any composer. For Ankit, the experience became even more memorable because Welcome To The Jungle features an ensemble cast of nearly 35 actors.
Recalling his first meetings with Bollywood stars, he admitted he was completely starstruck.
“I was completely starstruck when I met celebrities for the first time. Since Welcome To The Jungle had around 34 to 35 actors, I got to meet many famous people.”
For a newcomer, it was an unforgettable experience.
A Trailer Launch He’ll Never Forget
Among all his memories from the film, one moment continues to stand out.
During the trailer launch, Ankit was busy editing work related to one of the songs when several Bollywood stars began arriving.
“I still remember sitting in the lobby during the trailer launch while editing something related to the song. One after another, Akshay Sir, Arshad Warsi, and many other stars walked in. I was amazed because I had never imagined seeing so many celebrities together.”
Naturally, the experience left a lasting impression on the young composer.
A Warm Welcome From the Team
Despite being new to the industry, Ankit says he never felt like an outsider.
Instead, the entire team welcomed him with warmth and respect.
“Everyone treated me with great respect. No one made me feel like I was a newcomer. Ahmed Sir, Ahmed Sir’s team, Firoz Nadiadwala, and Anand Raj Anand made me feel comfortable, just like family.”
As a result, he was able to focus entirely on his work without feeling any unnecessary pressure.
Akshay Kumar’s Appreciation Was Special
For any newcomer, encouragement from established stars can be incredibly motivating.
Ankit revealed that Akshay Kumar appreciated his music and even offered valuable suggestions during the project.
“Akshay Sir also appreciated the music and shared his suggestions, which meant a lot to me.”
Therefore, receiving praise from one of Bollywood’s biggest stars became one of the highlights of his debut journey.
Big Dreams for the Future
Although his Bollywood journey has just begun, Ankit already has ambitious plans for the next five years.
He hopes to establish himself as one of the industry’s leading music composers and producers while also releasing independent music.
“Five years from now, I see myself as one of the best music composers and music producers in the film industry. My independent songs will also be released, and I hope to collaborate with many new artists.”
Additionally, he dreams of working with some of Bollywood’s biggest stars. According to him, several exciting projects are already underway.

“I liked everything about Welcome To The Jungle. What impressed me the most was that every artist was given equal importance. Even if someone had only a few seconds of screen time, they were treated with respect. Handling such a big cast is not easy.”
He concluded by saying that audiences will truly appreciate Ahmed Khan’s vision once they watch the film.
“When the trailer was released, many people wondered how so many actors would be given proper roles. But after watching the film, people will see how well Ahmed Sir gave importance to every artist, managed the entire crew, and handled such a big star cast. I truly appreciate his work. Hats off to him.”
