Badshah, the popular Indian rapper, is facing some serious heat after a recent comment about Dua Lipa. In an interview, he offhandedly said he’d like to “make babies” with the British-Albanian pop star. This quickly blew up online, with many people accusing him of being way out of line.
The clip making the rounds shows Badshah answering a question about his celebrity crush. He grinned and said, “I want to make babies with Dua Lipa,” which got some laughs in the studio, but definitely not online. A lot of people are calling his comment “creepy” and “disrespectful,” especially considering Dua Lipa’s huge global presence and the fact that the two don’t seem to have any connection.
While some fans are jumping to Badshah’s defense, saying it was probably just a joke, others are criticizing the way women are so often objectified in the entertainment industry. This whole thing has sparked a debate about how male celebrities talk about women in public.
So far, Dua Lipa and her team haven’t said anything about it. Badshah also hasn’t clarified his statement or apologized.
Right now, the rapper is promoting his new projects and getting ready for some international collaborations. However, this controversy could definitely affect how he’s seen on a global scale.
