Charles Dance, who is best known for playing the powerful Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones, is in talks to play Christopher Dent in Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II. Dent is the troubled father of Harvey Dent, the Gotham District Attorney. Robert Pattinson is back as the Dark Knight in this sequel, and this casting news adds a lot of star power to the movie.
The highly anticipated movie will start filming in the spring of 2026 and come out in theaters on October 1, 2027. It was hard to find someone to play Christopher Dent earlier because big-name actors like Daniel Craig, Brad Pitt, and Stellan Skarsgård reportedly turned it down.
Fans think that Dance’s strong presence will add more depth to the backstory of Harvey Dent, played by Sebastian Stan, and his wife Gilda, played by Scarlett Johansson. This move fits with Reeves’ realistic take on Batman’s story, which leads up to the appearance of the famous villain Two-Face.
