In addition, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed around ₹68.6 crore net to the first-day total. At the time, the opening was reported as the second-biggest Indian opening of 2024, behind Kalki 2898 AD.
The opening also became a significant milestone for both Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. While the Telugu-speaking markets drove much of the business, the film also reached audiences through its other language versions.
A Massive Worldwide Opening
The film’s international performance further highlighted its scale. Trade reports estimated that Devara: Part 1 earned around ₹145 crore gross worldwide on its first day.
As a result, the film became one of the major theatrical releases of September 2024. Several factors contributed to the strong start, including Jr NTR’s established fan following, Koratala Siva’s action-focused filmmaking and the curiosity surrounding Janhvi Kapoor’s Telugu debut.
