Astrologer Gauri Jain has a warning for social media users. According to her, the constant flow of content is making it harder to separate important information from everyday noise.
Today, a tragic flood update can appear alongside a funny reel. A political debate may follow a celebrity post. Soon after, an advertisement or viral pet video takes over the screen.
As a result, users constantly shift from one emotion to another. Jain believes this endless cycle can leave people emotionally exhausted.
When Everything Feels Urgent
According to Jain, one of the biggest problems with social media is the way it mixes completely different types of content.
One moment, users may see news about a tragedy. The next, they may watch a funny video. Then comes a political argument, followed by celebrity news.
“Everything is presented to us with the same urgency,” Jain explained.
Moreover, she believes this constant switching gives the mind very little time to process emotions. Users can move from grief to anger, entertainment and outrage within minutes.
Therefore, the problem is not just screen time. It is also the emotional pressure created by the endless stream of information.
Staying Informed Is Important
However, Jain is not suggesting that people should stop following the news. Instead, she believes there needs to be a healthier balance.
“Being informed and compassionate is important,” she said. The real problem, according to her, is constant exposure without enough time to process or respond.
In other words, knowing about an issue is useful. But consuming every update does not necessarily lead to meaningful action.
Furthermore, social media platforms are built to keep users engaged. Consequently, people can continue scrolling long after they have stopped gaining anything useful from the content.
Gauri Jain Wants Users to Be More Selective
Instead of completely disconnecting, Jain recommends being more conscious about what we consume.
Her approach is simple. First, understand what is happening. Next, decide what genuinely matters. Then, take meaningful action where possible. Finally, step away.
“Know what’s happening, decide what genuinely matters to you, take meaningful action where you can, and then step away,” she said.
Importantly, Jain also believes people should not feel guilty about missing certain updates.
“We don’t have to consume every tragedy, every controversy and every opinion to prove that we care,” she added.
Thus, taking a break does not mean being careless. Sometimes, it simply means protecting your emotional space.
Social Media Also Has a Positive Side
At the same time, Jain is not against social media. In fact, she recognises the opportunities it has created for her as an astrologer.
Through digital platforms, she can share knowledge about astrology and Vastu with a much wider audience. Moreover, people who may never have encountered these subjects can now access information online.
“I cannot deny its immense value,” Jain said.
Therefore, she sees social media as a powerful communication tool. However, she believes its value depends on how consciously people use it.
The Digital World Can Also Create Restlessness
Despite its benefits, social media has another side. Users are constantly exposed to tragedies, controversies, political opinions and personal struggles.
Over time, Jain believes this can make the mind restless and emotionally overloaded.
The challenge, therefore, is finding the right balance. Social media can educate and connect people. Yet, too much exposure can also become overwhelming.
Protecting Your Emotional Space
For Jain, completely leaving social media is not the answer. Instead, she wants to use it with greater intention.
As an astrologer, she continues to share her knowledge and create awareness online. At the same time, she does not want digital noise to control her emotional space.
This approach allows her to benefit from social media without becoming consumed by it.
“Social media should be a medium through which we share our wisdom, not a place where we lose our peace,” Jain concluded.
Gauri Jain’s Message About Digital Balance
Ultimately, Jain’s message is about awareness and balance. Staying updated can be responsible. However, constantly consuming distressing or distracting content can take an emotional toll.
Therefore, users need to decide where their attention belongs.
In a world where every notification demands attention, knowing when to pause can be just as important as knowing what to watch.
Being informed is responsible. Being endlessly distracted is not.
