John Mulaney Postpones Minneapolis Shows After ICE Shooting

John Mulaney, a comedian, has pushed back his tour dates in Minneapolis because an ICE officer shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. This killing has caused outrage and protests all over the city. The “Mr. Whatever” star was supposed to play three shows this weekend at the Armory, but he canceled them because he thought it was wrong to ask thousands of fans to travel and gather in the middle of rising unrest.

Mulaney wrote on Instagram that what is happening in Minneapolis is “heartbreaking” and that residents are going through “awful challenges and grief” since Good’s death. He said that he hates to cancel shows for people who have been looking forward to a night of comedy, but he doesn’t feel safe telling people to leave their homes when things are still unstable and dangerous.

Mulaney, who is 43 years old, stressed that tickets for the postponed Minneapolis shows will still be good for the new shows. The new dates will be announced soon. The comedian will keep going on his “Mr. Whatever” tour to other cities, with stops in St. Louis and Seattle later this month. This is because officials and community members in Minneapolis are still dealing with the ICE shooting and its aftermath.
