Actress and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut recently shed light on the meaningful story behind her upcoming film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata. During the film’s trailer launch, she revealed that the title was inspired by a term coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to honor India’s workforce.
Kangana Ranaut reveals how PM Narendra Modi inspired the title Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, a film honoring India's unsung heroes.
Moreover, Ranaut explained that the powerful moniker deeply resonated with the makers and perfectly captured the spirit of the film. As a result, it became the natural choice for a story centered on ordinary people performing extraordinary acts of courage.
Celebrating the Unsung Heroes of India
At its heart, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, which translates to “Makers of India’s Destiny,” is a tribute to the countless workers who keep the nation running every day.
The film recounts the true story of nurses, ward boys, cleaners, security personnel, and hospital staff who risked their own lives to save more than 400 people during a major crisis. While many stories focus on larger-than-life heroes, this film takes a different route by shining a spotlight on those who often work behind the scenes.
Furthermore, the trailer creates a striking contrast between the fear and chaos unfolding outside and the unwavering determination displayed inside the hospital. Even in the face of danger, these workers refuse to abandon their duties, showcasing remarkable courage and resilience.
Why the Title Holds Special Meaning
Speaking to the media, Ranaut elaborated on the significance of the title and why it struck such a powerful chord with the team.
According to her, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the term Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata in 2025 as a way of recognizing India’s labour class and their contribution to nation-building. She pointed out that the Prime Minister has consistently sought to bring dignity and respect to various sections of society through thoughtful and empowering terminology.
For instance, persons with a disability were recognized as “Divyangjan,” while artisans and skilled workers received recognition through the Vishwakarma initiative. Similarly, the term Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata serves as an acknowledgment of the workers whose efforts form the backbone of the country.
Consequently, the filmmakers felt the title perfectly reflected the message they wanted to convey through the film.
Kangana Ranaut’s Hope for a Meaningful Message
During the interaction, Ranaut was also asked whether she hoped Prime Minister Narendra Modi would watch the film.
In response, the actress said that the story belongs to every Indian, regardless of whether they personally know the real-life heroes who inspired it. She further added that if the Prime Minister watches the film after learning about the significance of its title, it could send a powerful message about recognizing and appreciating everyday heroes.
More importantly, she emphasized that the film is ultimately about gratitude—acknowledging those whose contributions often go unnoticed despite their vital role in society.
A Stellar Ensemble Supporting the Story
In addition to Kangana Ranaut, the film features a talented ensemble cast, including Girija Oak, Smita Tambe, Amrutha Namdev, Esha Dey, Priya Berde, Asha Shelar, Suhita Thatte, Rasika Aghase, Aditya Mishra, and Zahid Khan.
Each actor portrays a character inspired by real-life individuals who stepped up when their communities needed them the most. As a result, the ensemble format strengthens the film’s central message that heroism is not reserved for a select few.
Instead, it often emerges from ordinary people who choose courage, compassion, and duty over fear.
A Powerful Story Arriving in Theatres Soon
Presented by PEN Studios and produced by PEN Studios, Manikarnika Films, and Paramhans Creations, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is set to arrive in theatres on June 12, 2026.
At a time when cinematic landscapes are often dominated by fictional spectacles and larger-than-life narratives, the film promises something refreshingly different. Through its emotionally charged storytelling and focus on unsung heroes, it aims to remind audiences that some of the greatest acts of bravery come from the most unexpected places.
Ultimately, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata stands as both a tribute and a celebration of the individuals whose dedication quietly shapes the destiny of the nation every single day.
