A24 has released the highly anticipated trailer for “Marty Supreme,” which stars Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet as Marty Mauser, a table tennis prodigy on a never-ending quest for greatness. Josh Safdie, who is known for his gritty hits like “Uncut Gems,” directed the movie. It also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, the Creator, Odessa A’Zion, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher.
Set in New York City in the 1950s, “Marty Supreme” tells the story of Marty, whose dream of becoming a ping pong star is always being undermined by the people around him. The trailer teases a fast-paced sports drama set to the nostalgic song “Everybody Wants to Rule the World.” It has Safdie’s trademark style of chaos and desperation.
Timothée Chalamet trained hard for months and took expert ping pong lessons to get ready for the role. He really got into the world of competitive table tennis. The movie promises dramatic stunts, emotional highs and lows, and a visually gripping experience. It is already getting buzz for Best Actor Oscar nominations, making it one of the most anticipated performances of the year.
On December 25, 2025, “Marty Supreme” will come out in theaters across the country. This will add to A24’s already great holiday lineup and build on the studio’s success with unusual sports dramas.
