At the NFL Honors event in San Francisco, Matthew Stafford, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, won the 2025 AP NFL Most Valuable Player award. This is his first MVP award in 17 years. He had the best stats in the league, which helped the Rams go 12-5.

Stafford led the NFL with 4,707 passing yards, 46 touchdown passes, and only 8 interceptions, giving him a passer rating of 109.2. He was named to the first-team All-Pro team for the first time and the Pro Bowl for the third time. His team scored the most points in the league, with an average of 30.5 points per game. At 37, he got over worries about his back and made no-look passes and clutch plays.

The veteran led LA to the NFC’s fifth seed and had great games, like 457 yards against Seattle in Week 16. Stafford’s play silenced critics from his time in Detroit and helped his case for the Hall of Fame, along with his Super Bowl LVI ring. Coach Sean McVay called him a “extension of the coaching staff.”
