Lionsgate has released the full trailer for the highly anticipated Michael Jackson biopic, Michael. It stars Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s real-life nephew, as the famous King of Pop. Antoine Fuqua directed the movie, which follows Jackson’s rise to global superstardom from his Jackson Five days under the strict guidance of his father, Joe Jackson (Colman Domingo). It features exciting clips of hits like “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” and the moonwalk.
The trailer starts with a show in a stadium and Nia Long’s Katherine Jackson saying, “You’re confident.” You’re tough. You look great. You are the best ever. It goes deep into family drama, with Joe Jackson pushing his kids to work in the steel mill like he does. Are you ready to fight for it? Some of the most famous moments are the teases of “Billie Jean,” the “Thriller” video, and working with people like Quincy Jones (Kendrick Sampson).
Miles Teller plays attorney John Branca, Kat Graham plays Diana Ross, Laura Harrier plays Suzanne de Passe, and Juliano Krue Valdi plays young Michael. The previous teaser trailer set a record for the most views in 24 hours for any music biopic, with 116.2 million views. The biopic will be in theaters and IMAX on April 24, 2026, after being pushed back from its original 2025 release date.
It mixes struggles off stage with legendary performances. Universal is in charge of worldwide distribution, so this will be an unprecedented look at the pop star’s life. Fans can now watch the trailer to get a front-row seat to history.
