Mitú and Walmart Start Season 3 of the Filmmaker Mentorship Program to Help Latino Creators

Mitú and Walmart have teamed up again for the third season of their popular Filmmaker Mentorship Program. It supports new Latino filmmakers across the U.S. by offering mentorship, funding, and resources to help their voices be heard in the film industry. The program focuses on filmmakers from underrepresented communities, helping them tell personal stories through short films. It provides hands-on help from industry mentors, funding, and production support. Past talents like Kaila Gutierrez, Manuel Villarreal, and Sofia Ayerdi have shown their work at major festivals like Bentonville and Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival.

Participants receive guidance to improve directing and storytelling skills, a creative kit, and production resources. Many alumni say the program boosted their careers and opened job opportunities, especially for those with limited funding. This program shows how brands and media can promote diversity and inclusion in Hollywood. Season 3 will continue this mission by supporting new Latino voices and stories.

Latino filmmakers who want to apply can expect a competitive selection process. The 14-week program includes mentorship, skill workshops, and filmmaking opportunities. The ongoing success of this program highlights the growing impact of Latino creators in the industry today.
