Canadian production company Muse Entertainment is expanding its documentary ambitions with a new exclusive partnership with award-winning investigative journalist Rachel Browne. Under the deal, the two will collaborate on premium documentary series for audiences in Canada and around the world.

As part of the agreement, Browne will work closely with Muse Entertainment’s unscripted division to develop and produce original documentaries. Several projects are already in development, marking another major step in Muse’s growing investment in factual and investigative programming.
Meanwhile, Browne brings an impressive track record in investigative journalism and long-form storytelling. Her work has been recognized by the Canadian Association of Journalists, the Digital Publishing Awards, and the National Magazine Awards. In addition, she has contributed to television and documentary projects such as Witness for CBC, The Dark Side of Comedy for Vice TV, and Water is the New Fire for The Weather Network. She also writes investigative features for The Walrus.
Notably, Muse and Browne have worked together before. One of their upcoming projects is Running Smoke, a documentary slated for CBC. According to company executives, Browne’s reporting expertise and storytelling skills will strengthen Muse’s nonfiction slate.
“Rachel is one of Canada’s most respected investigative journalists,” said Jonas Prupas, managing director of Muse Ontario. He also highlighted the company’s successful history with Browne and its enthusiasm for the partnership.
For her part, Browne expressed excitement about the collaboration. She emphasized her passion for bringing compelling real-world stories to documentary audiences.
The agreement further enhances Muse’s growing reputation in the nonfiction space. Recent credits include Netflix’s Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy Wars, History’s Gangland Chronicles, Amazon Prime Video’s The Unsolved Murder of Beverly Lynn Smith, and Paramount+’s For Heaven’s Sake.
As global demand for investigative documentaries continues to rise, the Muse-Browne partnership is expected to deliver an ambitious slate of nonfiction projects across multiple platforms and territories.
