Noah Wyle Brings Laughter to Netflix Comedy Show

Actor Noah Wyle, best known for his iconic role on ER, transformed the Hollywood Bowl stage into a makeshift doctor’s office during the Netflix Is a Joke benefit show. Dressed in full scrubs and sporting a stethoscope, the 54-year-old revived his character Dr. Robby Robinavitch to perform live physical exams on audience members, with proceeds benefiting NEXT for Autism.

The bit proved wildly popular. One fan paid $16,000 for the opportunity to be examined onstage, with another bidder quickly following suit, bringing the total raised to approximately $36,000.

The performance was part of “Night of Too Many Stars,” a comedy showcase hosted by Jon Stewart at the 2026 Netflix Is a Joke Festival. Wyle opened the segment by auctioning off the unusual experience, then proceeded to check vitals and reflexes while cracking jokes about Los Angeles traffic and joking with Stewart about healthcare.

The stunt comes at a high point in Wyle’s career. His medical drama The Pitt, which airs on Max, has earned him Emmy nominations and Screen Actors Guild recognition for his portrayal of Dr. Robby, a surgeon dealing with PTSD. As an executive producer on the series, Wyle has positioned himself at the forefront of a new generation of prestige television.

The charity event showcased Wyle’s ability to blend comedy with his established dramatic credentials while drumming up anticipation for the show’s upcoming second season.
