Raghubir Yadav and Anshuman Jha’s upcoming father-son comedy drama has a new name. Originally titled Hari-Om, the film has now been rechristened Om Ka Hari following a title rights issue.
Produced by First Ray Films, the film revolves around the complicated bond between a father and his son. Interestingly, the new title also connects directly with the characters played by the two actors.
WHY WAS THE TITLE CHANGED?
The title change came because of a rights issue. Tips Music held the rights to Hari-Om, which had been used for a film more than two decades ago.
As a result, the makers could not retain the original title. However, instead of choosing an unrelated name, they found a title that remained closely connected to the story.
That title is Om Ka Hari.
ANSHUMAN JHA EXPLAINS THE NEW TITLE
Anshuman Jha explained that the film was always meant to be called Hari-Om. However, the team had to rethink the name after they were unable to secure the rights.
According to Jha, the filmmakers wanted the replacement title to retain the emotional and cultural significance of the original. At the same time, director Harish Vyas wanted the names of the lead characters to highlight the film’s central father-son conflict.
Therefore, Om Ka Hari became the natural choice.
THE TITLE HAS A DEEPER MEANING
The new name is more than just a replacement. In fact, it reflects the film’s central relationship.
Raghubir Yadav plays Hari, while Anshuman Jha portrays Om. Their character names come together in the title, creating a direct link between the two generations.
Moreover, the title reflects the film’s larger emotional theme. It explores how a son can gradually understand his father in a completely different way.
“LIFE ITSELF IS CIRCULAR”
Jha also highlighted the idea of life coming full circle.
As children grow older, they often begin to understand the struggles their parents faced. Similarly, fathers can see parts of themselves reflected in their children.
This emotional reversal appears to be an important element of Om Ka Hari. Therefore, the new title captures the idea of changing roles between parents and children.

The film also features Soni Razdan, Ayesha Kapur and Samta Sudhiksha in key roles.
