Andy Weir’s bestselling book Project Hail Mary is being turned into a highly anticipated sci-fi movie. Drew Goddard, who wrote the screenplay for The Martian, is back with another space thriller. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller directed the movie, which stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, a lone astronaut racing to save Earth from a cosmic threat. Sandra Hüller plays a major role. It will be released in theaters today, March 20, 2026, and it has already gotten Oscar buzz because of its heartfelt story and stunning visuals.

Fans can now see it in theaters and IMAX.
