Felicitated by Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis
On World Environment Day 2025, activist and actress Raveena Tandon was felicitated by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for her continuous initiatives in environmental protection and animal welfare.
Posting the moment on social media, she had written:
“Honoured for my work for the environment, by the honourable Chief Minister @devendra_fadnavis ji.”
A Personal and Meaningful Celebration
The day was also a family celebration, as it was the birthday of her mother-in-law Reshma Thadani and adopted daughter Chaya Malaney. Raveena added an emotional touch by stating that a rescued kitten, cared for by PETA India, found a new home during the World Environment Day of 2025.
More Than a Star: A True Changemaker
Outside films, Raveena is a committed environmentalist, wildlife photographer, and philanthropist.
- At 21, she adopted two daughters as a single mother, defying social norms.
- She was the youngest Chairperson of the Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI).
- She’s been a member of the CINTAA advisory panel and appreciated by PM Narendra Modi for being a organ donation campaigner, related also to initiatives celebrated on World Environment Day 2025.
Leading Relief Work During COVID-19
During the pandemic, her Rudra Foundation distributed oxygen cylinders to hospitals and legal establishments such as the Army Hospital, Radha Soami Satsang Beas, and the Supreme Court Bar Association.
A Voice for India on Global Platforms
