Rupert Grint is bringing the classic pirate adventure Treasure Island to life in a new audio adaptation. The Harry Potter star has teamed up with British podcast network Noiser for the project.
Interestingly, Grint will voice every character in the story. This makes the upcoming audiobook an exciting new challenge for the actor.
The series will premiere on December 8, 2026. Moreover, new episodes will arrive weekly.
The production will also feature immersive sound design. As a result, listeners can expect an engaging journey filled with pirates, hidden treasure and unexpected betrayals.
Rupert Grint Joins Noiser for Treasure Island
Rupert Grint is exploring a new form of storytelling through Noiser’s adaptation of Treasure Island.
The British podcast network is known for its immersive audio productions. Its projects combine compelling narration with detailed sound effects.
However, this adaptation presents a unique challenge for Grint.
Instead of playing one character, he will perform every role in the story. Consequently, listeners will hear him portray different personalities and emotions throughout the series.
Moreover, the adaptation aims to introduce Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel to younger audiences.
At the same time, longtime fans can experience the familiar adventure in a fresh format.
Rupert Grint Will Voice Every Character
One of the biggest highlights of the audiobook is Grint’s multiple-character performance.
The actor will narrate the story and voice its entire cast. These characters include Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver, Billy Bones and Ben Gunn.
Additionally, he will voice Captain Flint, the famous parrot from the pirate adventure.
Each character has a distinct personality. Therefore, Grint will need to adjust his voice, tone and delivery.
Unlike traditional audio dramas featuring multiple performers, this adaptation relies on one actor.
As a result, Grint’s performance will play a major role in shaping the listening experience.
Treasure Island: A Classic Pirate Adventure
Treasure Island is one of the most famous adventure novels in English literature.
Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson wrote the novel, which was published in 1883.
The story follows Jim Hawkins, a young boy whose life changes after he encounters a mysterious sailor.
Soon, Jim discovers a treasure map that leads him on a dangerous journey.
He travels across the sea aboard a ship called the Hispaniola.
However, the adventure becomes increasingly risky when secrets emerge among the crew.
Jim soon finds himself surrounded by pirates, deception and shifting loyalties.
Meanwhile, the mysterious Long John Silver becomes a central figure in the story.
Beyond its exciting adventure, the novel explores courage, trust, greed and personal growth.
Noiser Promises an Immersive Audio Experience
Noiser is known for creating podcasts with detailed sound design and engaging storytelling.
For Treasure Island, the production aims to recreate the atmosphere of a pirate adventure.
Moreover, sound effects will help listeners imagine ships, oceans and dangerous encounters.
The story features dramatic locations and unexpected confrontations.
Therefore, audio effects can add depth to the narration.
However, Grint’s performance remains the main attraction.
His ability to create different characters through voice will help bring the story to life.
Additionally, the audio format allows audiences to experience the adventure without visual effects.
Why Rupert Grint Is an Interesting Choice
Rupert Grint became internationally famous for playing Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter film series.
His performance made him a familiar face to audiences around the world.
However, his acting career extends beyond the wizarding franchise.
He has appeared in films such as Cherrybomb, Into the White and Knock at the Cabin.
Additionally, he starred in the psychological horror television series Servant.
Now, Treasure Island presents a different acting challenge.
Without facial expressions or physical movement, Grint must communicate emotions through his voice.
Moreover, he will need to maintain distinct character voices throughout the series.
Consequently, the project offers another opportunity to explore his versatility as an actor.
Noiser Has Collaborated With Major British Stars
Rupert Grint is not the first well-known British performer to work with Noiser.
The podcast network has previously collaborated with acclaimed actors on literary adaptations.
For example, Dame Julie Andrews has contributed to its collection of Jane Austen stories.
Meanwhile, Hugh Bonneville has narrated Sherlock Holmes adventures.
These projects highlight Noiser’s interest in bringing classic literature to modern audiences.
Furthermore, the network produces popular history and documentary podcasts.
Its catalogue includes Real Vikings, Real Dictators, Short History Of and Real Survival Stories.
Therefore, Treasure Island continues the company’s focus on immersive storytelling.
Treasure Island Audiobook Release Date

Moreover, weekly releases can build anticipation around major developments in the story.
For families and longtime fans of the novel, the adaptation offers a new way to enjoy the classic adventure.
