Guess what? Our very own Sanjana Sanghi is making waves on the global stage! The actress has been hand-picked by the United Nations Youth Office to be a judge for the Young Leaders for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). How cool is that?
Young Leaders for SDGs: What’s It All About?
Basically, the UN initiative shines a spotlight on 17 amazing young people, all under 30, who are seriously making a difference. They’re all working hard to achieve the UN’s big goals for 2030. These include ending poverty, fighting inequality, and protecting our planet. The judges come from all walks of life – the UN, charities, entertainment, and business. They have the awesome job of picking these inspiring young leaders.
Sanjana’s Reaction? Pure Gratitude!
Sanjana is super excited about this new role. She said, “Being invited by the United Nations to join legends like Malala Yousafzai, Cody Simpson, Lilly Singh, and Dia Mirza is a huge honour! It really shows that young people aren’t just waiting for the future – we’re building it!”
She also mentioned that giving the keynote speech at the UN General Assembly’s Summit of the Future last year really hammered home how important it is for everyone to work together. It’s crucial for young people to lead the charge.
Not Just an Actress: A Champion for Change
Sanjana isn’t just a Bollywood star; she’s also the UNDP India Youth Champion. She’s a passionate advocate for things like child rights, women’s empowerment, and gender equality. She’s been involved in tons of social campaigns. Sanjana is always pushing for young people to come up with innovative solutions to the world’s problems.
In Great Company
Now, Sanjana’s sharing a platform with some seriously inspiring people like Malala Yousafzai, Lilly Singh, Cody Simpson, Dia Mirza, and Forest Whitaker. Her new role sends a powerful message: young people aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow – they’re shaping the world right now!
