During the promotions of her upcoming film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, actor Smita Tambe shared a deeply personal story from one of the most difficult phases of her life. While the film celebrates unsung heroes who step up when circumstances demand it, Tambe revealed how an ordinary nurse became a hero in her own journey.
Smita Tambe shares an emotional story from her life during Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata promotions, recalling the nurse who restored her confidence.
For nearly 18 months, the actor spent significant time in and out of hospitals, dealing with physical challenges that tested both her strength and determination. However, amid the pain, uncertainty, and endless treatments, she found an unexpected source of comfort and encouragement.
A Challenging Chapter Filled With Pain
Looking back on that period, Tambe recalled the countless hospital visits and the emotional toll they took on her. As she navigated her recovery, there were moments when the future seemed uncertain.
It was during this time that she met Sugandha, a nurse at Suvidha Hospital who would leave a lasting impact on her life. Although Sugandha was simply doing her job, her approach to patient care went far beyond medical treatment.
When Music Became a Form of Healing
Every morning, Sugandha would arrive for her rounds with a smile and a song. Instead of allowing the hospital environment to feel intimidating, she brought warmth and positivity into the room.
At a time when Tambe was receiving more than five injections a day, the nurse would sing Marathi songs while administering medication and adjusting saline bottles.
Recalling those moments, Tambe said, “She used to come and sing Marathi songs while giving me injections and saline. She made the entire process feel normal.”
As a result, what could have been a stressful and painful routine gradually became easier to endure. Through her simple acts of kindness, Sugandha helped create a sense of comfort during a difficult recovery.
Facing an Uncertain Future
However, the biggest challenge was yet to come.
Doctors informed Tambe that her leg could end up being half an inch shorter after treatment. Naturally, the possibility raised serious concerns for both the actor and her family.
For someone who loved dancing, the thought of losing that ability was particularly devastating. Consequently, conversations around her increasingly focused on what she might no longer be able to do.
While family members worried about her future mobility and doctors discussed potential complications, Tambe found herself surrounded by uncertainty.
The Words That Changed Everything
Yet, amid all those concerns, Sugandha chose to focus on hope rather than fear.
After weeks of treatment, the nurse looked at Tambe and said, “Mast Nachnar Tu” — meaning, “You will dance very well.”
Although the sentence was simple, its impact was profound.
“That sentence gave me confidence,” Tambe shared, explaining how those few words shifted her entire mindset. At a time when everyone around her was discussing limitations, Sugandha reminded her of possibilities.
More importantly, those words gave her the strength to believe in her recovery.
More Than Just a Nurse
According to Tambe, what made Sugandha special was not only her kindness but also her unwavering faith in a patient who needed encouragement.
“It wasn’t even part of her job,” the actor reflected. “But it was very important.”
In many ways, Sugandha’s support became a crucial part of Tambe’s healing process. While medicine treated the physical pain, her optimism helped restore the confidence that had begun to fade.
Even today, Tambe remembers the nurse with immense gratitude, crediting her for helping her regain the belief that she would one day dance again.
A Story That Reflects Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’s Message
Interestingly, Tambe’s real-life experience closely mirrors the central theme of Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata.
The film pays tribute to ordinary individuals who rise to extraordinary situations and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Just like Sugandha, these unsung heroes often work quietly behind the scenes without expecting recognition.
Through stories of courage, compassion, and selflessness, the film shines a spotlight on people whose actions leave a lasting impact.

Celebrating Everyday Heroes
As audiences prepare to watch Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, Smita Tambe’s touching recollection serves as a powerful reminder that heroes can be found in the most unexpected places.
Sometimes, all it takes is a kind word, a song, or a moment of belief to change someone’s life forever. And for Tambe, that hero was a nurse who never stopped telling her that she would dance again.
