THE SHAPE OF WATER

By Arun Sajnani

THE SHAPE OF WATER – Coming from Director Gulliermo Del Toro of “Pan’s Labyrinth” fame, he brings a you another very creative and imaginative film. this time he deals with an amphibian creature from the abyss. “THE SHAPE OF WATER” is unusual yet full of freshness in terms of storytelling.

Set in the 60’s in Baltimore and Washington, the film shows the U.S. Military base has captured a creature that may be of top secret use for them. In that military base, a mute cleaning girl who is lonely, seems to be captivated by this monster.

The film is simple. The highlight is this fish like creature with fins which seem so real. As a result you start to believe in this fairy tale like love story that comes to life from these murky waters from below. The film gets a 3 and a half stars for it imaginative plot. Go see it.
