Fresh court documents have entangled Travis Scott’s management team in a sprawling controversy over alleged smear campaigns targeting entertainment industry figures, according to filings in an ongoing legal battle.

The documents suggest that David Stromberg, Scott’s longtime manager and an executive at the rapper’s Cactus Jack label, exchanged messages with crisis management and PR professionals accused of orchestrating coordinated efforts to damage their opponents’ reputations.

The allegations emerged from a lawsuit filed by publicist Stephanie Jones and have gained attention largely due to connections to the high-profile legal showdown between actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Court exhibits include a redacted 2024 group chat showing Stromberg in communication with crisis adviser Melissa Nathan and digital strategist Jed Wallace.

The messages allegedly discussed tactics for researching an unnamed opponent and directing media coverage toward content on a so-called “ghost platform,” with conversations touching on legal, media, crisis management and digital strategies aimed at countering perceived threats.

The filings have intensified scrutiny of claims that a web of PR professionals, lawyers and digital operatives may have worked together on reputation-management campaigns against various entertainment industry players. While similar allegations have surfaced in other celebrity disputes, several figures have denied involvement.

Some of the reported exchanges apparently referenced the 2021 Astroworld Festival tragedy, though significant portions remain redacted. The nature of any link between those discussions and the wider allegations is currently unclear.

Neither Stromberg nor Scott has publicly commented on the filings. Other named individuals have either refused to comment or denied wrongdoing. The case continues to unfold, with no court rulings yet on the allegations.
