The Bollywood Music Project again united India’s crème de la crème voices. This year’s roster included Shankar Mahadevan, Farhan Akhtar, Shaan, Ehsaan, Anu Malik, and Salim–Sulaiman Merchant. Among these legends, Abhijeet Sawant took center stage with his emotional performance and Marathi pride.
A 20-Year Journey Celebrated on Stage
Touching two decades of music, Abhijeet presented a powerful performance replete with emotion and nostalgia. He sang popular numbers from his musical career, such as the classic “Mohabbatein Lutaunga” and the soulful Marathi “Sar Sukhachi Shravani.”
Winning Hearts With Hindi and Marathi Tunes
Abhijeet’s performance beautifully interwoven Hindi and Marathi songs. His Marathi rendition on a Bollywood platform brought cheers from both Marathi and non-Marathi audience members equally. It was a moment to be proud of where music came together despite languages.

Spreading happiness, Abhijeet said,
“This phase is massive — from children to youngsters, everyone listens with so much affection. Despite it being the Bollywood Music Project, I wished to croon a Marathi song for my people. To see people who aren’t Marathi enjoying Sar Sukhachi Shravani reinforced that art isn’t language.”
Bridging the Past With Today’s Youth
Abhijeet feels these kinds of events remind youngsters of evergreen hits.
“Remixes and hip-hop are favorite among today’s youth, but events like this make them connect with original songs,” he added.
