Comedy writer Bridger Winegar is marking a major milestone as his podcast I Said No Gifts surpasses 300 episodes. The host said the show’s simple premise—asking guests not to bring gifts, only for them to ignore that request—has remained central to its long-running appeal.

The format is deliberately straightforward. Winegar hosts comedians, actors, and friends in conversational interviews, built around a single rule: no gifts. Despite that, guests routinely arrive with presents, turning each episode into an unscripted mix of improvisation, awkward exchanges, and comedy built on surprise.

“The format continues to surprise me,” Winegar told The Hollywood Reporter, noting that guests increasingly treat the “no gifts” rule as part of the joke rather than a serious restriction.
