Chris Rock is stepping behind the camera again with A24’s upcoming film ‘Misty Green’, and the newly released trailer suggests an intimate character study about redemption and second chances in Hollywood.
The drama stars Rosalind Eleazar as a once-promising actress attempting to resurrect her career after years away from the industry. Rock not only directs and writes the film but also takes on a supporting role, marking his first feature since ‘Top Five’.
The trailer follows Misty Green, an actress whose career stalled due to personal struggles and family complications. Determined to reclaim her foothold in the entertainment world, she reaches out to industry contacts from her past while grappling with both emotional and professional obstacles. Unlike Rock’s comedic work, ‘Misty Green’ leans into serious drama, exploring themes of resilience, forgiveness, and the toll of fame.
The ensemble includes Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Topher Grace, Anthony Anderson, Rich Sommer, Kelli Garner, and Amy Landecker. For Eleazar, known for her television work in ‘Slow Horses’ and ‘Missing You’, the role represents one of her biggest film opportunities to date.
A24 is producing and distributing the film, continuing its track record of backing character-driven dramas. The trailer showcases refined cinematography and emotionally layered performances centered on one woman’s fight for a fresh start.
‘Misty Green’ will make its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival before hitting theaters later this year, positioning it as a potential awards-season contender.
