Elizabeth Holmes has spoken out from behind bars for the first time in years. Just weeks before the release of a new documentary about her life, the former Theranos founder shared a cryptic message on social media.
Holmes posted the message on X on September 28. She said she had been “silenced for a long time.” She also introduced a new system to distinguish her personal posts from those shared by her team.
Holmes Introduces a New Social Media System
According to Holmes, posts written personally by her will now carry her initials, “-EAH.” Meanwhile, posts without the signature will come from the team managing her account.
She also used the post to address her ongoing legal situation. “I’m continuing to fight to prove my innocence and return home to my family,” Holmes wrote.
In addition, she referenced the more than 1,200 days she has spent incarcerated. She also shared a photo featuring her partner, Billy Evans, and their two children.
The Timing Raises Fresh Interest
Holmes’ message comes at a significant moment. Her story is once again entering the spotlight with the arrival of You Can See Everything.
The documentary comes from filmmaker Nathan Fielder and director Lance Oppenheim. It premiered unexpectedly at the Telluride Film Festival this fall and is scheduled to reach theaters on October 16, 2026.
More importantly, the film offers unusually intimate access to Holmes. It follows her during the weeks leading up to her federal prison sentence.
A Different Look at the Theranos Founder
