Sony Pictures is preparing to bring Spider-Man: Brand New Day back to theaters. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is planning a theatrical rerelease featuring previously unseen footage.
The move comes shortly after Avengers: Endgame returned to cinemas as Avengers: Endgame: Encore. That rerelease added fresh material and attracted strong audiences.
Now, Sony appears ready to follow a similar strategy. While a release date has not been announced, the new Spider-Man version is expected to include scenes that were missing from the original theatrical cut.
Rosario Dawson’s Deleted Scene Could Return
One of the biggest talking points is Rosario Dawson’s deleted scene. The actress previously revealed that she filmed a cameo as Claire Temple for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, the scene was ultimately removed.
For Marvel fans, Claire Temple is a familiar face. Dawson played the character across several Netflix series, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders.
As a result, her appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day could create another connection between Marvel’s television and film stories.
Dawson also discussed the experience during a GalaxyCon panel. She revealed that she had prepared behind-the-scenes social media content before learning that her scene had been cut.

Released on July 31, 2026, the movie also features a large ensemble of MCU characters. Consequently, fans have plenty of reasons to revisit Peter Parker’s latest adventure.
