Spanish Actor Fernando Lindez Takes the Leap With English-Language Romantic Lead in ‘The Last Sunrise’

Spanish actor Fernando Lindez is ready for his close-up on the international stage. The Elite star is making his debut as a romantic lead in English-language film with The Last Sunrise, a new romantic drama now available on Prime Video.

Directed by Carlson Young and based on a novel by Anna Todd the author behind the wildly popular After franchise the film pairs Lindez opposite Maia Reficco, with Eva Longoria rounding out the cast.

Lindez, who became a household name through Netflix’s Spanish-language hit Elite, plays Julián, a young fisherman in Mallorca. It’s a deliberate move away from what audiences know him for, positioning him as a leading man in a romantic drama aimed at a global audience.

In the film, Julián meets Oriah “Ry” Pera, played by Reficco, a college student who travels to the Spanish island with her mother, Isolde (Longoria), to spend the summer. What starts as a chance encounter blossoms into something deeper and far more complicated.

The story takes darker turns as Ry’s chronic illness worsens and family secrets emerge. The film weaves together romance, coming-of-age drama, and family tension against the stunning backdrop of Mallorca, elevating it beyond typical summer love fare.
