Freddie Highmore is reuniting with David Shore for a brand new crime series, marking a major comeback for the creative duo. The two previously worked together on The Good Doctor, the medical drama that wrapped up after seven seasons in 2024 and became a global hit.
Their latest project, I’m Not Here to Hurt You, is set to premiere on Canada’s Crave streaming platform through Sony Pictures Television. The series follows an ordinary family man who leads a secret life as a charming but dangerous criminal, juggling his domestic world with high-stakes heists. It’s a departure from the medical dramas both have become known for, blending family tensions with crime-driven suspense.
Highmore not only stars in the 10-episode first season but also executive produces it, drawing on his experience directing and producing episodes of The Good Doctor. Shore, who created the acclaimed series House, is applying his talent for psychological complexity and moral ambiguity to this new crime story.
The pair’s reunion has fans excited about what they might deliver next. Their chemistry on The Good Doctor—which earned widespread acclaim and Golden Globe nominations—showed they know how to craft compelling character-driven storytelling. Now, with Shore moving into the crime genre and Highmore taking on a leading role as an actor-producer-director, they’re positioned to bring something fresh to the small screen.
The series is expected to arrive on Crave later this year, with Sony Pictures Television handling international distribution.
