Hoppers stays at the top of the North American box office for the second weekend in a row. The Pixar animated hit does better than new movies like Universal’s Reminders of Him.
Hoppers is on track to make about $30 million in its second weekend, following a huge $46 million opening last week. This strength puts Scream 7 in second place and shows how well Pixar movies appeal to families. The movie Reminders of Him, based on Colleen Hoover’s book and starring Maika Monroe, does better than expected at the box office, making an estimated $19–20 million in its first weekend thanks to word-of-mouth.
- Hoppers makes a lot of money per theater from 4,000 locations, which shows that people are still interested in original animated stories.
- Reminders of Him could be the start of a new trend in romance movies, unlike past adaptations of Hoover’s work that didn’t do as well; Universal has promised a five-week run in theaters.
- Other big movies, like Scream 7, bring in $17.3 million, and Wuthering Heights is still in the mix.
