Jennie Garth’s 90210 Memoir: Rehab, Luke Perry Truths

The famous Kelly Taylor from Beverly Hills, 90210, Jennie Garth, tells all in her new memoir, I Choose Me: Chasing Joy, Finding Purpose, and Embracing Reinvention, which comes out on April 14. The tell-all goes into great detail about her nightmare after her divorce from Peter Facinelli, including a night of binge-drinking and pills that almost killed her and sent her to the hospital to have her stomach pumped. She later went to Canyon Ranch rehab to stop self-medicating and get her life back after years of pain.

Garth admits that her on-screen chemistry with late co-star Luke Perry turned into real feelings, and she called him her “first real love” when the show was at its most popular. The love triangle between Dylan and Kelly in the show 90210 was similar to the tension between the two actors off-screen, where they had rivalries like Kelly’s with Shannen Doherty. Fans are going crazy over these private details from the time when heartthrobs were all the rage in the ’90s.

Garth had to deal with depression, imposter syndrome, body image issues, and multiple miscarriages after she and Facinelli broke up in 2012 after 17 years and three daughters. The pressure of fame made her feel alone, and it took sobriety to bring her peace and self-love. She is 54 years old now, co-parents well, and is open to change.
