The scandal broke on July 15, 2025, when the “kiss cam” at Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour stop at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, showed Cabot hugging her then-CEO Andy Byron. Chris Martin joked on stage, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy,” which caused a lot of online activity and quick results. Byron, who was married, quit soon after, and then Cabot left Astronomer.
Cabot said she would have liked a message from Martin. She also said she would never go to another Coldplay concert or any other live show because of the trauma.
