Kristin Cabot Slams Chris Martin Over Viral Kiss Cam Silence

Kristin Cabot, who used to be the Chief People Officer at the tech company Astronomer, said that Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, never got in touch with her after the famous concert incident in 2025 that led to rumors of an affair. She said “No! Never did!” very clearly when asked about the singer reaching out to her during an open interview at the PRWeek Crisis Communications Conference.

The scandal broke on July 15, 2025, when the “kiss cam” at Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour stop at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, showed Cabot hugging her then-CEO Andy Byron. Chris Martin joked on stage, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy,” which caused a lot of online activity and quick results. Byron, who was married, quit soon after, and then Cabot left Astronomer.

Cabot said she would have liked a message from Martin. She also said she would never go to another Coldplay concert or any other live show because of the trauma. Cabot said there was no affair and that the hug was because of drinks and a “crush” on Byron. She also said that her estranged husband was at the event. People on the internet made fun of what she said, and memes like “Sorry lady but he won’t Fix You” used Coldplay’s hit song as a reference.

The video got millions of views, which led to public shaming, threats, and job losses for both of the executives involved. Martin later defended the kiss cam tradition at concerts, even though people were upset about it. As of April 2026, Cabot is still talking about the saga in public, focusing on how social media can make personal pain worse.
