The Nayyi Navelli trailer is finally here. Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow have unveiled the trailer for their upcoming Hindi entertainer, bringing together fantasy, family drama, comedy and mystery.
Set in Meerut, the film takes audiences into the chaotic world of the Awasthi family. However, this is not an ordinary family story. Soon, a mysterious new bahu turns their lives upside down.
Headlined by Yami Gautam Dhar, Nayyi Navelli presents the actress in a never-before-seen avatar. Moreover, the film combines traditional family moments with fantasy, action and plenty of Bollywood-style masala.
Directed by Balaji Mohan in his Hindi film debut, the movie is written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma. Meanwhile, Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma have backed the project as producers.
The film also features music by G. V. Prakash Kumar. Nayyi Navelli will release in cinemas across India on October 16, 2026, ahead of Dussehra.
A Perfect Bahu With a Mysterious Secret
The trailer introduces the Awasthi family during a wedding. At first, everything feels familiar. There are celebrations, rituals, relatives and plenty of family opinions.
However, things soon take a strange turn.
Yami Gautam Dhar plays Mohini, the family’s new bahu. She appears warm, charming and almost perfect. Yet, there seems to be something unusual about her.
As the trailer progresses, the family’s doubts begin to grow. The mystery becomes even more intriguing with the phrase “Bhabhi Daayan Hai.”
What begins as simple suspicion soon develops into something much bigger.
Naturally, the trailer leaves viewers with one major question: Who is Mohini really?
Yami Gautam Dhar Enters a New Avatar
Yami Gautam Dhar is clearly one of the biggest attractions of Nayyi Navelli. This time, however, the actress takes on a character unlike her previous roles.
Mohini is not simply a traditional bride. Instead, she moves between humour, emotion, mystery and action.
As a result, the role gives Yami plenty of room to explore different shades. Her character also appears to be at the heart of the film’s fantasy world.
Talking about Mohini, Yami said she was drawn to the character because she is “never quite what you expect.” She also described her as warm and familiar while carrying a mystery that gradually unfolds.
Therefore, audiences can expect Mohini to remain unpredictable throughout the story.
Wedding Drama Takes a Fantasy-Filled Turn
At its core, Nayyi Navelli begins with a familiar Indian family.
The Awasthi household has its own quirks, opinions and madness. Mohini’s arrival, naturally, adds another layer to the family dynamics.
However, the story soon moves beyond everyday household drama.
The trailer shifts between wedding celebrations, comic situations, mysterious moments and action sequences. At the same time, fantasy elements give the film a larger-than-life feel.
So, what looks like a regular family entertainer quickly turns into a much bigger adventure.
Balaji Mohan Makes His Hindi Film Debut
Nayyi Navelli also marks Balaji Mohan’s Hindi film debut.
The director has created a story that starts with familiar family dynamics. However, he then takes the narrative into an unexpected fantasy world.
Speaking about the film, Mohan said its family feels relatable because of its quirks, opinions and madness. Yet, the story eventually takes audiences somewhere completely unexpected.
He also praised the film’s ensemble cast. In particular, he highlighted Yami’s ability to bring warmth, mystery and mischief to Mohini.
Moreover, the director has aimed to keep the humour intact even as the story becomes larger in scale.
A Strong Ensemble Cast Joins Yami
Yami Gautam Dhar leads the film, but she is joined by a talented ensemble.
The cast includes Addinath M Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vasisth, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Susmita Mukherjee and Prateek Pachori in pivotal roles.
Each character appears to add another layer to the Awasthi family’s chaos. Furthermore, the ensemble setup gives the film plenty of opportunities for comic and dramatic moments.
The trailer suggests that family members will have their own reactions to Mohini. As the mystery grows, their relationships could become even more entertaining.
The “Bhabhi Daayan Hai” Mystery Takes Centre Stage
One of the most intriguing elements of the trailer is the “Bhabhi Daayan Hai” mystery.
Mohini initially appears to be the perfect daughter-in-law. Yet, the family’s suspicions suggest that there could be much more to her story.
Still, the trailer carefully avoids revealing the complete truth.
Is Mohini actually hiding a supernatural secret? Or is there another explanation behind everything happening around her?
For now, the mystery remains under wraps.
That unanswered question could become one of the film’s biggest hooks when it reaches theatres.
Fantasy, Comedy and Action Come Together
Nayyi Navelli refuses to stay within one genre.
Instead, the film brings together fantasy, comedy, family drama, mystery and action. This unusual combination gives the project a distinctly festive entertainer feel.
At the same time, the story remains rooted in an Indian family setting.
The contrast is what makes the trailer interesting. On one side, there are weddings, relatives and household arguments. On the other, there are mysterious developments and larger-than-life fantasy elements.
Consequently, Nayyi Navelli promises a very different kind of family adventure.
G. V. Prakash Kumar Adds the Musical Touch
Music also plays an important role in the film.
Composer G. V. Prakash Kumar has created the soundtrack for Nayyi Navelli. His music is expected to complement the film’s colourful and festive atmosphere.
With Dussehra around the corner, the musical elements could further add to the movie’s celebratory mood.
The combination of music, comedy and fantasy also fits the film’s larger-than-life presentation.
Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma Back the Project
The film brings together producers Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma.
Their collaboration with Balaji Mohan creates an interesting mix of storytelling styles. Meanwhile, writers Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma have built the story around a family that slowly finds itself caught in something extraordinary.
The result is a narrative that starts small but appears to become increasingly ambitious.
A wedding brings everyone together. Mohini enters the household. Then, the mystery begins.
Nayyi Navelli Release Date
The Nayyi Navelli release date is set for October 16, 2026.
The film will arrive in cinemas across India just ahead of Dussehra. Therefore, it is positioned as a festive big-screen entertainer.
With Yami Gautam Dhar at the centre, Balaji Mohan making his Hindi debut and a strong ensemble supporting the story, the film has several elements designed for a theatrical experience.
Most importantly, the trailer does not reveal everything.
Instead, it gives audiences enough clues to spark curiosity while keeping Mohini’s biggest secret hidden.
A New Fantasy Family Entertainer Awaits
The Nayyi Navelli trailer promises a colourful mix of family chaos, mystery, fantasy and action.
Yami Gautam Dhar’s Mohini is clearly at the centre of the intrigue. Meanwhile, the eccentric Awasthi family adds humour and emotional drama to the story.
The film also brings a fresh combination of genres to the festive season.
Now, audiences only have to wait until October 16 to discover what is really behind the “Bhabhi Daayan Hai” mystery.
Nayyi Navelli ka ho raha hai cinemas mein Griha Pravesh! Catch the film in theatres near you from October 16, 2026, and uncover Mohini’s secret this Dussehra.
