Rob Reiner, a famous director known for movies like “When Harry Met Sally” and “The Princess Bride,” and his wife Michele were found dead in their Brentwood home. This is a sad end for the Hollywood icon.
According to police, the couple, who were 78 and 70 years old, had cuts that were consistent with a knife attack. This led the LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division to open a homicide investigation. The Chadbourne Avenue home got a visit from the Los Angeles Fire Department around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. As the case moves forward, no suspects have been named.
Reiner became famous as “Meathead” on All in the Family and won two Emmys. He then directed hits like This Is Spinal Tap, which is considered one of the funniest movies of all time. His romantic comedy “When Harry Met Sally” with Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal changed the genre. “The Princess Bride,” “Stand by Me,” “Misery,” and “A Few Good Men” all showed off his ability to work in many different genres. He helped start Castle Rock Entertainment, which made hits like “Seinfeld.”
Reiner changed the way mockumentaries and romantic comedies were made by using his own experiences in movies like When Harry Met Sally, which was written by Nora Ephron. Tributes show how versatile he was, from comedy to drama, and how he changed movies forever. The entertainment world is sad about the loss while the investigation is still going on.
