Cannes 2025 Kicks Off Without Uorfi Javed
The Cannes Film Festival 2025 began on May 13, drawing stars from around the world. Among those who hoped to attend was Uorfi Javed, known for her daring fashion choices. However, she recently revealed that her visa application was denied, stopping her from walking the red carpet.
Rozlyn Khan Reacts on Social Media
Actress Rozlyn Khan took to Instagram to react to the news. She mocked the situation, saying the visa rejection might have been in Cannes’ best interest.
“Getting an invite is one thing, but being denied a visa is next level,” she wrote. Rozlyn added, “Waise bhi, jaa kar karti kya wahan? Cannes has a strict dress code this year—aur nanga ghoomna wahan mana hai!” (Translation: What would she have done there? Cannes doesn’t allow nudity.)
New Cannes Dress Code Sparks Commentary
Cannes 2025 introduced strict guidelines this year. Nudity is banned, and guests must avoid large, voluminous outfits that slow red carpet movement and complicate theater seating.
This new rule would have likely clashed with Uorfi’s signature bold style.
Vir Das Joins the Conversation
Rozlyn also referenced comedian Vir Das, who joked about skipping Cannes because of the dress code. “Of course, he was never going,” she quipped, “but why miss a well-timed punchline?”
Online Buzz and Mixed Reactions
The exchange has gone viral, sparking debate over fashion freedom vs. formal regulations. While some fans support Uorfi, others agree with Rozlyn’s take, noting that Cannes has its own brand of sophistication.
