Saiyami Kher Completes Ironman Hat-Trick in Italy

Actress Saiyami Kher has once again made history. She completed her third Ironman 70.3 race in Cervia, Italy, on September 19, 2026.

With this achievement, Kher has become the first Indian actress to participate in three Ironman 70.3 races. Her latest feat adds another milestone to her growing journey in endurance sports.

However, the race was anything but easy. She faced travel problems, intense heat, challenging ocean conditions and months of tough preparation. Despite it all, she finished the race and improved her previous time by 20 minutes.

Saiyami Kher Completes Her Third Ironman

Kher’s Ironman journey began in 2024. She participated in the Ironman 70.3 in Erkner-Brandenburg, Germany, and successfully completed the demanding race.

Then, in July 2025, she returned for her second challenge. This time, she competed in Jönköping, Sweden.

As a result, Kher became the first Indian actress to successfully complete two Ironman 70.3 races. Now, a year later, she has added Italy to her endurance journey.

From Germany to Sweden and Italy

Each Ironman has brought a different challenge for Kher. Her first race was about discovering whether she could take on the demanding event.

The second taught her more about the preparation and discipline required. Therefore, by the time she reached Italy, she had valuable experience behind her.

Still, Cervia brought its own difficulties. Kher had to deal with unexpected problems even before race day.

Travel Trouble Before the Race

Just days before the event, Kher’s journey to Italy became stressful. She revealed that KLM initially refused to let her team board because of an error involving their bike bags.

As a result, the team spent hours making calls and dealing with uncertainty. Eventually, they managed to reach Italy.

However, there was little time to relax. The race itself presented another set of challenges.

Heat and Jellyfish Made It Tougher

Cervia greeted the athletes with temperatures of around 30°C. The heat added another layer of difficulty to an already demanding endurance event.

Moreover, Kher had to swim in ocean waters where jellyfish were present. She also revealed that the two months before the race had been particularly difficult for her physically.

Nevertheless, she stayed focused and completed the challenge.

A 20-Minute Improvement

Finishing the race was already a major achievement. However, Kher also managed to improve her previous Ironman 70.3 time by 20 minutes.

That improvement made the Cervia race even more significant. It showed the progress she had made through experience, training and preparation.

For Kher, however, the biggest lesson went beyond the clock. She believes endurance sport is also about learning how to deal with situations that are outside your control.

“Three Very Different Stories”

Looking back at her journey, Kher described her three Ironman races as three different stories.

Germany marked the beginning. Sweden added experience. Italy, meanwhile, tested her ability to adapt under pressure.

Most importantly, each race gave her new lessons. The challenges may have changed, but her determination remained constant.

The Team Behind Her Achievement

Kher also made sure to acknowledge the people who supported her journey.

Coach Deepak Raj helped guide her training around her professional commitments. Meanwhile, sports scientist Onzal worked on her nutrition strategy throughout training and during the race.

She also thanked her strength and fitness team, physiotherapy support and bike technician for helping her prepare for the event.

In addition, Kher acknowledged the brands that supported her sporting journey, including Adidas India, Scott Sports India and Pella Sportswear.

Balancing Cinema and Endurance Sports

Kher’s Ironman journey is particularly notable because she has continued training alongside her acting career.

Endurance racing requires consistency. It also demands careful attention to swimming, cycling, running, strength training, recovery and nutrition.

Therefore, completing three Ironman 70.3 races across three years represents more than a single race-day achievement. It reflects a long-term commitment to the sport.

Pizza and Tiramisu After the Finish Line

After months of training, Kher’s post-race celebration was much more relaxed.

She joked about finally trading energy gels for pizza and electrolytes for tiramisu. The playful celebration came after an extremely demanding race day.

And, of course, Italy provided the perfect setting for that reward.

Saiyami Kher’s Ironman Hat-Trick

From Germany to Sweden and now Italy, Saiyami Kher has completed three Ironman 70.3 races across three years.

Her latest outing was filled with unexpected hurdles. Yet, she crossed the finish line and finished 20 minutes faster than her previous 70.3 race.

More importantly, Kher’s journey continues to bring together two very different worlds: cinema and endurance sport. With her third Ironman now complete, her remarkable athletic journey has entered another chapter.
