August 2, 2025 | London – Get ready for some feels, Spurs fans. Son Heung-min, the South Korean superstar, has officially announced he’s leaving Tottenham Hotspur. It’s the end of an era after an incredible 10 years in North London.
In a really touching video posted on social media Thursday, the 33-year-old forward thanked everyone – the fans, his teammates, and all the staff at the club. “It’s tough to say goodbye to a place that’s felt like home for the last decade,” Son Heung-min said. “Spurs will always be a part of my life.”
Son Heung-min arrived at Tottenham back in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen and quickly became a Premier League favorite. Everyone loves him for his unbelievable speed, amazing skills, and that huge smile. He played over 400 games for the club, scoring more than 150 goals! That makes him the highest-scoring Asian player ever in Premier League history. Seriously impressive.
He was a key player in Spurs’ journey to the 2019 Champions League final and even became the team’s captain in 2023. And even though they didn’t snag a major trophy during his time, Son Heung-min stayed loyal, becoming a true symbol of dedication and love for the club.
So, what’s next for Sonny? He’s not saying just yet, but everyone’s already buzzing about where Son Heung-min might go. There’s talk of clubs in Europe, maybe a move to the Middle East, or even a return to South Korea.
Tottenham Hotspur released a statement calling Son “a true legend of the club whose legacy will live on for years to come.”
As Son says his goodbyes, fans everywhere are remembering all the amazing goals, his awesome sportsmanship, and his never-give-up attitude. He’s not just a Tottenham legend; Son Heung-min is a global icon for the sport.
