Salt Lake County authorities have looked into Taylor Frankie Paul’s case and found that he will not face any new domestic violence charges. He is the star of Hulu’s “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” The District Attorney’s Office looked over reports from the police departments in Draper and West Jordan and decided not to file charges because there wasn’t enough evidence and the statute of limitations had run out.
Paul posted a picture of flowers on social media with the caption, “Cried when I got the call.” She thanked her supporters after months of back-and-forth accusations with her ex, Dakota Mortensen. This comes after she pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in 2023, which will be reviewed in August.
Prosecutors who had several lawyers look at the high-profile cases anonymously confirmed that her probation from the previous case is still in effect.
The recent investigations were sparked by arguments involving Mortensen, the father of her 2-year-old son Ever, and included claims from events that happened more than three years ago, which are now too old to be used. There are reports that some events didn’t meet the legal definition of a crime because there wasn’t enough proof.
A 2023 video that came out again showed Paul in a heated fight, putting Mortensen in a headlock and throwing chairs while a child cried, bringing up the issue again. In his most recent response, Mortensen talked a lot about being a father.
The news comes after production on Season 5 of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” was put on hold and ABC pulled her “Bachelorette” season because of the fallout. Layla Taylor and other cast members spoke out against domestic violence.
