Taylor Swift Foots $160K Bill for NYC Wedding Permits

Pop superstar Taylor Swift has reportedly paid more than $160,000 in permit fees to New York City for her high-profile wedding celebration with NFL star Travis Kelce, according to city officials.

The hefty price tag covered special event permits and municipal services, including traffic management and police presence required for the star-studded affair. Several city streets near the venue were temporarily closed to accommodate the guest list and ensure smooth operations throughout the festivities.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed during a recent press briefing that Swift’s team had already settled the bill, putting to rest questions about who would cover the city’s expenses related to the event’s increased security and public resources.

While the six-figure permit fee certainly isn’t chump change, it represents just a fraction of the overall wedding budget, which insiders estimate could reach into the tens of millions of dollars. The celebration reportedly featured elaborate décor, round-the-clock security, and an A-list guest list.

The news has sparked debate on social media, with some observers weighing in on the costs of hosting massive private events in major metropolitan areas. Others noted that it’s standard practice for event organizers to pay municipalities for permits and reimburse cities for extra services like street closures and police details.
