A Lead Role Comes With Greater Responsibility
Actor Tushar Dhembla is all set to step into the role of Nikhil, the male lead in Heer Sharma Gayi, the upcoming web show by Director’s Kut Production. Created by Ishika Shahi, the show will stream on the production house’s official YouTube channel.
While the actor is excited about the opportunity, he also acknowledges the responsibility that comes with leading a show. Moreover, he believes that such roles demand emotional commitment and authenticity.
“I’m really excited and a bit nervous, in a good way,” Tushar shared. “Whenever you play a lead, there’s a sense of responsibility because you’re carrying the story. Heer Sharma Gayi is very close to my heart. I genuinely feel the audience will connect with its emotions and honesty.”
A Love Story With Emotional Depth
Furthermore, Tushar revealed that the script immediately caught his attention. Unlike conventional love stories, he found this one layered and emotionally engaging.
“When I first read the script, it didn’t feel like a typical love story. Instead, it had depth and subtlety. I was instantly hooked and knew I wanted to be a part of it,” he explained.
Additionally, he believes that the emotional realism of the narrative makes the project stand out. As a result, the story promises to offer something fresh to viewers.
Trust and Teamwork Strengthened the Decision
At the same time, the actor emphasized that his previous collaboration with the team played an important role. Having earlier worked with the production house on Jabb Zodiacs Met, he already shared a strong bond with them.
“After working with DKP earlier, there was already a level of trust,” he said. “The character felt fresh, relatable, and emotionally strong. That is something I always look for as an actor.”
Therefore, both the team and the story made the decision even more meaningful for him.

When talking about his character, Tushar described Nikhil as emotionally layered and realistic. He believes that the character’s imperfections make him more relatable.
“He’s not just one emotion. There’s vulnerability, strength, love, and confusion all at once,” he shared. “What makes him stand out is how real he feels. He’s not perfect, and that’s what makes his journey interesting.”
