Learn about Zsa Zsa Zemeckis's impressive transition to lead actress in 'State-Crossed Lovers' and other projects.
The casting marks a major turning point for Zemeckis, who has been steadily building her resume with supporting roles and smaller projects over the past couple of years. Most recently, she appeared in her father’s 2024 film “Here” alongside Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, where she played Vanessa.
“State-Crossed Lovers” will showcase Zemeckis in a much larger capacity as she transitions from supporting work to carrying her own feature film. The romance project is among several films in post-production for the actress, including “Jump,” where she plays Ashley, and a short film titled “Dog Sh*t.”
Her breakout year continued with an appearance in the 2025 short film “A Love Letter to Dread,” where she took on the role of Ellie.
Growing up in a Hollywood family has certainly opened doors, but Zemeckis appears intent on establishing herself as an actress in her own right. She’s represented by McCaffrey Talent Management, TCA Management, and Hello Gorgeous Models Agency.
With “State-Crossed Lovers” set to arrive in 2026, industry watchers will be keeping a close eye on how the younger Zemeckis performs in her first starring vehicle. The film represents a significant career milestone for an actress determined to step out from behind her father’s considerable shadow.
