Amélie Hoeferle Opens Up About ‘Sterling Point,’ Her Love of Acting and the Sisterhood She Found on Set

Amélie Hoeferle is entering an exciting new phase of her acting career with Sterling Point, Megan Park’s coming-of-age drama for Prime Video. The series gives the rising actress a chance to explore complicated family relationships while embracing the creative freedom that continues to fuel her passion for acting.

In Sterling Point, Hoeferle plays Ramona, a teenager whose life changes when Annie, portrayed by Ella Rubin, arrives in Canada and discovers that she and Ramona are biological sisters. The series follows the pair as they navigate grief, family secrets, friendship and the challenges of discovering their identities.

For Hoeferle, landing the role carried special meaning. She recalls Park calling to tell her that she had won the part. Instead of treating the moment like a routine casting call, the actor and filmmaker shared an emotional celebration that reflected how strongly they connected with the project.

Hoeferle has steadily expanded her acting résumé with roles in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Night Swim and Ari Aster’s Eddington. However, Sterling Point allows her to explore a character with greater emotional depth.

Hoeferle also shares several emotionally demanding scenes with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Joe. His character has a romantic connection to Ramona’s late mother, adding another complicated layer to the teenager’s family story.

Hoeferle has praised Morgan’s warmth and described their scenes as emotionally challenging. She also views Joe and Ramona as equals when they interact, creating a dynamic that gives their conversations additional tension.

Morgan joined the project after Park sent him the script with the role already written with him in mind. His presence adds an established performer to a young ensemble led by Hoeferle and Rubin.
