The ‘Euphoria’ actress announced her debut memoir, Somewhere Dark and Hot, a candid look at her unconventional journey from Pennsylvania through the adult entertainment industry to mainstream Hollywood success. Simon & Schuster will publish the book on February 23, 2027.
Euphoria actress Chloe Cherry announces her debut memoir Somewhere Dark and Hot, sharing her journey through fame, the adult film industry and personal struggles.
Cherry, best known for playing Faye on HBO’s acclaimed drama ‘Euphoria’, said the memoir gave her a chance to reclaim her story after years of public speculation about her life and career.
The book chronicles Cherry’s life after she left home at 18, walking readers through her time in adult films while grappling with eating disorders, insomnia, drug abuse, joblessness and mental health struggles. It also examines her transition into acting and what it’s been like to suddenly find herself in the spotlight.
In interviews about the project, Cherry said writing the memoir proved therapeutic, allowing her to transform painful moments into something meaningful. Rather than let others define who she is, she wanted to share her perspective directly with readers.
The actress also poses a deeper question in the book: how far are people willing to go to achieve their dreams, and what are they willing to give up along the way? She drew inspiration from writers like David Sedaris, Hunter S. Thompson and Ottessa Moshfegh while working on the project.
Simon & Schuster editor Stuart Roberts called the memoir an intimate and culturally important work that examines identity, fame, performance and reinvention. He praised Cherry’s writing as honest, funny and emotionally raw—the kind of book readers won’t want to put down.
Since joining ‘Euphoria’, Cherry has become a recognizable face in television and landed new opportunities in the industry. Now she’s making her authorial debut, offering an unfiltered account of the struggles and triumphs that defined her path before and after Hollywood.
The memoir is available for preorder now ahead of its February 2027 release.
