Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour Team Up Again for Netflix Spy Thriller

Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour are heading back to work together, though their new project couldn’t be more different from Stranger Things. Netflix has greenlit an untitled spy drama starring the beloved duo straight to series, reuniting them for the first time since the hit show wrapped.

The pair will play a father and daughter once again, but with a major twist. Brown takes on the role of Rebecca, an FBI agent who vanishes during a risky assignment. Harbour plays Matt Wolfe, a disgraced ex-FBI operative turned private security expert who must crawl out of retirement to save his estranged daughter from danger.

The drama comes from Jack Thorne, the acclaimed writer behind Netflix’s Adolescence and the Enola Holmes films. The show is being made in partnership with A24, with both Brown and Harbour signed on as executive producers.

Netflix describes the series as a high-stakes espionage story wrapped around an intimate family narrative, diving into the complicated relationship between father and daughter as they uncover a sprawling international conspiracy. The platform’s head of scripted programming for the U.S. and Canada, Jinny Howe, lauded Thorne’s gift for blending pulse-pounding thrills with deeply personal storytelling—and said audiences will be eager to see Brown and Harbour back on screen together.

The announcement comes just months after Stranger Things ended its five-season run. Brown and Harbour won their fans’ hearts through their portrayal of Eleven and Jim Hopper, and their father-daughter dynamic became the emotional backbone of the series.

Both actors have dropped hints in recent interviews that a reunion was already in the pipeline. Harbour suggested fans would see plenty more of them together, while Brown later confirmed the project, noting it was actually Harbour’s idea and calling Netflix their creative home.

The reunion also puts to bed months of chatter about reported friction between the two during Stranger Things production. Both have brushed off those claims, framing any disagreements as normal creative differences they worked through with open dialogue. Harbour compared their bond to a real family relationship, saying occasional clashes are inevitable after nearly a decade of collaboration.
