Paramount+ Orders Season 2 of ‘Dutton Ranch’ Following Massive Debut

The Yellowstone universe just got a whole lot bigger. Paramount+ has greenlit a second season of Dutton Ranch, the highly anticipated spinoff starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. The renewal announcement comes while season one still has two episodes left to air, a signal of just how confident the streaming giant is in the show’s success.

Quick Summary

Paramount+ has renewed Dutton Ranch for season 2 following the record-breaking debut of the Yellowstone spinoff starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler.

The series, which follows the iconic couple as they build a fresh start in South Texas after the events of Yellowstone, has been a runaway hit for the platform. It pulled in an impressive 12.9 million viewers globally during its premiere week alone, marking one of the strongest cable debuts in years.

“Beth and Rip are among the most iconic duos in television history, and we are thrilled to bring a whole new world to life with Dutton Ranch for our subscribers around the world,” Jane Wiseman, head of originals for Paramount+, said in a statement.

The first season features an all-star cast including Reilly, Hauser, Finn Little, Annette Bening, Ed Harris, Jai Courtney, Juan Pablo Raba, and Natalie Alyn Lind, among others new to the franchise. The Texas-set drama has already established itself as the biggest original series launch in Paramount+ history.

The renewal does come with some behind-the-scenes turbulence. Creator and showrunner Chad Feehan departed the project ahead of the premiere over creative differences, though he’ll retain creator credit. Director and executive producer Christina Alexandra Voros is expected to remain heavily involved with the series.

Season one wraps up on July 3, with season two expected to premiere sometime in 2027.
